Kevin Flynn

CLU, CFP
Kevin entered into the Employee Benefits industry in 1986, days after graduating from UBC Sauder School of Business with a Bachelor of Commerce and Degree in Marketing. He was born and raised in Campbell River and had a varied work background through his University pre-Insurance years. Kevin’s Dad was a small business owner, and he witnessed the day-to-day successes, struggles, triumphs and challenges of running a small town, small business. Kevin moved to the Shuswap in 1996 for the small town lifestyle and started working with Salmon Arm Financial Ltd. He bought into the organization and formed a successful and positive long-term partnership with Steve Hammer. For the most recent 10+ years Kevin has been President of SAF, and recently Kevin and Cathy became the sole owners of SAF and the Benefits operation. SAF is now a true family operation with our son, Chris Bartsch, joining the team in 2017.

Kevin is very competitive and spends a lot of time on the golf course. Over the years Kevin has played and organized teams for basketball, volleyball and slo-pitch. Whether it is in the local Men’s League, the Kamloops Master League, or rounding up old friends and contacts to travel to World Master Games. He also loves being in, on, and around Shuswap Lake. Winters will find Kevin at Silver Star enjoying some downhill skiing. Kevin also has a passion for his community. He was a former Salmon Arm Chamber Of Commerce Board Member and President, Salmon Arm Golf Club Board Member and President, and long-time SA City Councilor – currently serving his 5th Term on City Council, and is also the current Chair of the CSRD. Whether in his business or political life, Kevin believes that small businesses are the life blood of our communities. Kevin is passionate about working with small business owners to help them thrive and succeed, and enjoys helping small businesses design benefit plans that are customized to assist in attracting, retaining and rewarding their valued employees.
